To customize your dock, there are two paths into the settings menu:
1.) Click on the Help & Support
icon on the dock, then click on
icon.

2.) Right click on the dock and select any of these: "Change dock location...",
"change dock color...", or "Advanced settings".
You can change various settings to customize your Dock, including: changing the
location (i.e. left edge, top edge (default), right edge, bottom), changing how
the Dock behaves and changing the color, text and icons
in your Dock.

The location of the Dell Dock can be moved from its default position (top of monitor)
to either the left side, right side or bottom of the screen. To change the location,
(if not already selected) click on "Change dock location and display behavior".
The box represents your monitor & the horizontal & vertical bars are where
the dock can be placed. As you move your cursor over the bars on the menu, a pop-up
message will tell you where the dock will be placed. Click on the desired location
and the Dell Dock will be moved to that location.

If you add more icons than will fit on the dock, you will receive a message that
says "Scrolling Now Active" and arrows will appear on both ends of the
dock. Clicking these arrows will allow you to scroll through all the icons on the
dock.
If you don't want to be asked this question again in the future, check the box
next to "Don't ask me this question again". Click
or
to close the message box.

You will receive this message & arrows will appear at ends of
the Dock if the number of icons exceeds the Dock’s capacity.

Changing the display behavior allows you to auto-hide the Dock, so that only a small
portion of the Dock is visible and the main part of the Dock moves out of the way.
Another option allows you to bring the Dock out in front of window(s) that maybe
blocking all or part of it. Then you can send it to the back, behind the application
window so you can continue what you were doing.

Autohide will slide your dock off the screen so that only a small portion of the
dock is visible. To make the dock fully visible, move your cursor to that edge of
the screen. It will slide out from the edge, until you click on an icon or click
on your desktop. Then it will slide back off the desktop.
To select this option, check the box next to "Autohide to edge", then
click on the desktop and the menu will close as the dock slides off the edge of
the screen. To cancel this option with the menu still open, click the
button to close the menu.
To stop the dock from autohiding, move the cursor to the edge, after the dock appears,
right click on it & select "Change dock location", then uncheck "Autohide
to edge" and click on the desktop. This will close the menu and the dock
will remain visible.
Normal visible dock - on top edge of screen.
Dock hidden - move the cursor to the edge of the monitor to make it fully visible.
Normally, the dock will be hidden behind applications that block it (i.e. full or
partial screen). This feature (on by default) allows you to have the dock hidden
when an application window covers it. But when you move the cursor to the edge of
the screen (for a few seconds) where the dock is, the dock will appear above (in
front of) the window. Clicking on a dock icon or moving the cursor away from the
dock, hides it behind the window.
Dock is behind an active window.
Dock in front of active window - cursor over Videos icon.
To turn this feature off, uncheck the box "Bring to top when mouse nears edge",
then click on the desktop to close the menu.
To turn the feature back on, check the "Bring to top when mouse nears edge",
then click on the desktop to close the menu.
You can change the color of your Dock by clicking on "Change the color"
on the Customize Your Dock menu. A color palette will appear with a number of basic
colors to choose from. Moving the cursor over each color will display what color
it is (i.e. Royal Blue, Lime Green, Lilac, ...). Clicking on any of the colors will
immediately change the color of the dock and menu.

Clicking the
box in the lower, right hand corner opens a custom menu for creating your own color.
You can change the Hue (i.e. tint), Saturation (i.e. purity of color) and Brightness.
As you move the slider icon, the color of the menu & dock will change. You will
notice how the sliders are in different positions for each color you choose. When
you are satisfied with your changes, click
to apply them. (You can also click
or
to abort any changes.)
